Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira confirmed his talisman Wilfried Zaha will be out of action for a couple weeks after picking up a heavy knock against Newcastle in the Premier League.

There had been hopes that the little break due to the FA Cup might have given Zaha a good chance of making the trip to Old Trafford but no one at the club was willing to risk him once it became clear he was still in pain.

Last season Zaha scored 15 goals in all competitions for the  Eagles and is the club’s top scorer again this campaign with six goals in the league so far.

His contract is up in the summer and there are growing indications that he might not extend his stay in south London- but until then, they need him to get them fighting for a 10 half finish in the Premier League.

LondonWorld.com understand that he will be out until late February and having already missed the 2-1 defeat to Manchester, Zaha is in line to miss the derby against sworn rivals Brighton and Hove Albion at Selhurst too.

Heis also set to miss the trip to the TechBstadium vs Brentford before having a slight chance of returning for the home game against out of form Liverpool at the end of the month.

Historically though Zaha has always healed from injury faster than expected and the next few days will give us an indication of how deep this latest setup is.
