Crystal Palace produced another impressive home performance to see out the season on a high with a 1-0 win over a struggling Manchester United side, who would be happy it’s over.

It was Wilfried Zaha again who proved the difference, with the former Manchester United man finishing off smartly for what would be the only goal of the game in the first half.

Manchester United had their incoming manager Erik ten Hag in the stands, but that did little to improve performance on the pitch and in the end, Palace deserved the three points they got.

It’s been a largely impressive season under Patrick Vieira and the 1-0 win over Manchester United meant they kept five straight clean sheets at home for the first time since 1992.

The former Arsenal midfielder arrived at Selhurst Park as a relatively unknown quantity, but has turned out to be a masterful pick from Steve Parish.

In Vieira’s first season, Palace have bettered the 14th place finish they had under Roy Hodgson, the man he took over from, and they got a positive goal difference for the first time since the inception of the Premier League.
