Southampton vs Crystal Palace: XIs for upcoming Premier League game
Oliver Glasner takes his Crystal Palace side to Southampton this week, this is how the Eagles starting XI could look.
Crystal Palace tasted FA Cup quarter final victory against Fulham on Saturday and go into a midweek encounter with struggling Southampton off the back of that defeat.

The Saints sit rock bottom of the Premier League and are 17 points adrift of safety, seemingly condemned to a return to the Championship. The south coast outfit were beaten 2-1 by Wolves before the international break, widening that gap.
With an extra 90 minutes of football already in their legs, Oliver Glasner may look to rotate his Crystal Palace side for the visit to St Mary’s Stadium. LondonWorld looks at the predicted lineups for the Premier League midweek fixture.
Southampton Team News
Ivan Juric almost has a fully fit squad at his disposal for the visit of Crystal Palace. Southampton will be without Will Smallbone, who has a groin injury, but could return in the "next week or in the final part of this week".
Juan Lopez is a doubt due to a lack of match fitness but doesn’t have any gametime in the Premier League this season anyway. Ross Stewart is also a doubt for the same reason but the striker is not a key man having only been seen in a few cameos earlier on in the campaign.
Southampton Predicted Lineup to face Crystal Palace
Aaron Ramsdale, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Jan Bednarek, James Bree, Ryan Manning, Joel Aribo, Lesley Ugochukwu, Kyle Walker-Peters, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Mateus Fernandes, Paul Onuachu.
Former Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale has earned praise for his performances this season, despite a porous Southampton defence. Kyle Walker-Peters is an experienced threat at wing-back and is out of contract this season while big Paul Onuachu will lead the line and has three Premier League goals in 2025.
Here is how the side last lined up
Southampton deployed Armel Bella-Kotchap and Kyle Walker-Peters in centre-back roles against Wolves last time out. Sugawara Yukinari took the role of right wing back with the promising Tyler Dibling at right wing - Dibling has had a busy break with the England under-21 set-up and could be rested. Mateus Fernandes led the line against Wolves.
Crystal Palace team news
Crystal Palace will be without Will Hughes, who is suspended for his fixture for an accumulation of yellow cards. Oliver Glasner has all of his attacking players fit but is without first team stars for important defensive roles.
Cheick Doucouré has a knee injury and is out for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, centre-back Chris Richards has a minor calf injury and will miss the trip to Southampton. Chadi Riad has a knee injury and will miss out alongside long-term absentee Joel Ward.
Crystal Palace Predicted Lineup to face Southampton
Dean Henderson, Nathaniel Clyne, Maxence Lacroix, Marc Guehi, Daniel Munoz, Adam Wharton, Jefferson Lerma, Ben Chilwell, Ismalia Sarr, Eberechi Eze, Jean-Phillipe Mateta.
Despite those injuries, Oliver Glasner will be able to name a fully fit side to take on Southampton. As always, Tyrick Mitchell and Daniel Munoz will provide the width at wing back. Jean-Phillipe Mateta returned from his horror ear injury against Fulham and will surely lead the line again with Eberechi Eze in behind and looking to build on goals for England and for the Eagles over the past week and a half.
Here is how the side last lined up
Chris Richards started the FA Cup quarter final against Fulham but his injury means he will likely be replaced by the dependable Nathaniel Clyne. Other than that, Glasner named the same starting XI as is predicted to face Southampton this week.
