Crystal Palace’s intriguing alternative season ratings from the stats experts

Patrick Vieira has enjoyed a promising first season in charge of Crystal Palace.

The Eagles look set to achieve a mid-table finish and could even push into the Premier League’s top ten with a strong end to the season.

With nine games remaining in the campaign, Vieira’s side sit in 12th place in the table and are just two points shy of ninth-placed Aston Villa.

Success has also come in the FA Cup as Palace saw off Millwall, Hartlepool United, Stoke City and Everton to set up a semi-final meeting with Chelsea at Wembley next month.

Vieira’s summer recruitment has laid the foundations for an impressive performance this season with the likes of Marc Guehi, Joachim Andersen and on-loan Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher all impressing during the campaign.

The progress of left-back Tyrick Mitchell has been another highlight and his development was rewarded with a first England cap over the weekend.

Several of the players Vieira inherited from Roy Hodgson have also played a part with Wilfried Zaha, James McArthur and Christian Benteke all providing sterling service for the Frenchman as he established himself at Selhurst Park.

With the campaign now entering its closing stages, London World has taken a look WhoScored.com’s latest data to assess who have been Palace’s best performers during the season.
