Rangers told how to complete Crystal Palace transfer involving player who attracted multiple offers last summer
Crystal Palace have specific conditions over the potential departure of an attacker.
Rangers have been told what formula they must use to if they want to secure the services of Crystal Palace star Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. The Scottish side are said to be hoping to land the 22-year-old as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the new season.

But recent reports have suggested that Palace have rejected their advances, preferring a permanent sale if they are going to be convinced to part ways with the winger.
According to Alan Nixon, Rangers may yet be convinced to loan out Rak-Sakyi, but there is going to have to be a promise of a future transfer. He posted on his Patreon: “I think Palace do it [a loan with option] if it’s guaranteed. Maybe find a way round that. But the player fancies it … which is a massive plus.”
Palace’s stance should come as no surprise given the demand Rak-Sakyi attracted last summer when Sheffield United signed him on loan. Now former Blades boss Chris Wilder said at the time: “I knew about Jes from his loan period at Charlton Athletic, when they were in League One, so I know how well he did there and I knew a couple of people there at the time as well. Position-specific, he was what we were looking for. Jes ticked all the boxes. He was on our radar for quite a while. We understood that and, from our point of view, we had to sell what our football club was about.
“There were two £15m bids for him, and three-quarters of the Championship sides in for him as well. Rak-Sakyi’s making his debut at home, which was great for him. He’s going to be a player. Two big bids for him to Crystal Palace, one out of our division and one out of the Premier League, we’ve beat off a whole host of Championship clubs.”
Rak-Sakyi made 36 appearances for Sheffield United last season, scoring seven times and assisting two goals. He said of his loan spell during the season: “Obviously it's a step up from League One. Just playing at this level in the Championship, the intensity is very high.
“There are a lot of good players in the league so I’m just trying to be better than I was in the previous week, and building game by game is really helping my development. I'm in better shape now than I was last season and just playing week in, week out is obviously good for my development. It's good for the team as well, because I have good support and good players around me which makes it easier for me when I step out on the pitch.”
Palace are likely to ask for around £10million in any obligation to buy, and it will be interesting to see if Rangers are willing to climb to that fee. The 22-year-old is highly rated, but he still finds himself too far down the pecking order at Palace to expect to play regular football, and the Eagles are likely to strengthen heading into a new season that will feature a European campaign.
Speaking early last season about Rak-Sakyi’s position in the pecking order, Eagles boss Oliver Glasner said: “The situation is that we all agree with Eze, Olise and Mateta, it’s three amazing players in a really good shape. Ebs scores goals. JP scores goals. Michael scores goals and gets assists.
“With Jeffrey Schlupp, Jordan Ayew and Odsonne Edouard, we have three players who could start every game because they also deserve it with their quality and talent. It’s maybe now a tough moment for Jes.”
