Crystal Palace will be without midfield duo Will Hughes and James McArthur for their trip to the Amex on Wednesday night in the Premier League.

James McArthur has only just returned from an injury that has kept him out for most of this season but looks to have picked up a knock and will not be involved again in the derby.

Former Watford midfielder Hughes will also sit out this one as he’s not trained this week with Vieira now having to shuffle the pack for the crucial game.

Under-pressure manager Patrick Vieira confirmed the duo would not be involved against Brighton: “ On the injury front Will Hughes and McArthur will not be involved.”

Vieira is also hoping that his team can rediscover their best form when they take on rivals Brighton having failed to win a league game since New year’s Eve, they also became the first Premier League side to fail to record a shot on target in three Premier League games.

Reports continue to link top goal-scorer and club legend Wilfried Zaha with a move away from south London.

There has been a recent offer from Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, with a wage in the region of £9 million a year that will be hard to match by even some of the biggest clubs in the country.

“It will be like that until the end of the season,” the Palace boss said after being asked about the latest reports.

“Everybody knows we want to keep Wilfried at our football club. We will do everything to keep him at the football club.”

Palace haven’t lost to Brighton in their last seven meetings including five drawn games but they go into this latest clash as heavy underdogs with the Seagulls hunting a European spot.
