Oliver Glasner provides huge transfer update following Aston Villa win
Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise have been hot topics ahead of impending summer transfer window
It was a triumphant day in South London with Crystal Palace ending a sublime first few months under Oliver Glasner with a 5-0 win over Aston Villa.
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a hat-trick with Eberechi Eze adding a brace of his own and, after a fleeting battle with relegation earlier this season, the Eagles are now finishing in the top ten of the Premier League.
Speaking to the press after the match, Glasner admitted he did not believe it could be possible to finish in such a high position but has expressed his gratitude to every member of Selhurst Park that made it possible. When asked if in February, he’d imagined finishing tenth, the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss said: “No! I don’t know how many points we were away but I never focus on the table - never, not since the first day. I focused on the team on the players, we need to improve, we need to win games.
“Thank you to the players, thank you to the club for supporting us, for trusting us. We had six games no win but we all stayed positive. We really worked hard and now we get the reward.”

Following a tremendous few months, all eyes will now be on the upcoming summer transfer window which opens in under two weeks time. Three stars are all attracting huge interest from around both the Premier League and Europe but Glasner assures his fans he believes all three will continue to don the Eagle badge next campaign.
Michael Olise, Eze and Mateta have all enjoyed phenomenal transfer interest but when posed the question by the press, Glasner confirmed: “I’m very confident (they will remain), because they have a contract, they are here. So nobody has told me any different.
“I think we all did what we can do. We’ve shown them we have ambition, how we want to play, which journey we want to write together and they can play a crucial part in it. They can show their strengths, they can show their personality, they can express their qualities. This is what we can do. If something else happens it is part of football.”
The Austrian was then asked whether he had heard if there would be a necessity to sell any players this summer in order to balance the books, to which he curtly and convincingly replied: “No”.
With Gareth Southgate to name his provisional Euros squad on Tuesday, Palace fans will be keeping a watchful eye to see if their star players Eze and club captain Marc Guehi will be making the cut.
“(I am) Very keen for them to be nominated”, Glasner expressed. “For every single players we wish them the best. Of course as Palace manager you wish for some players to have some weeks off but I know for the players it’s their ambition at the great tournaments.”
