Crystal Palace head to Nottingham Forest in the last gameweek before the six week break for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Palace will be looking to win the game, with Forest currently bottom of the Premier League.

Despite losing to Newcastle in the third round of the Carabao Cup on penalties, Palace are enjoying a good run of form in the league. Their last league outing saw them win 2-1 with the last kick of the game as they beat West Ham.

Their weekend opponents, Nottingham Forest, are having a tricky season. They’re back in the top flight for the first time in over two decades, and currently sit bottom.

They were heavily criticised for their summer spending, which saw them bring in over 20 players. They spent big, signing the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White for close to £30 million, Emmanuel Dennis for £20 million and more.

Compared to Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace’s outlay was miniscule. Their biggest spend in the summer was Cheick Doucoure from Lens for just over £20 million.

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace has been selected for a 3pm kick-off time on Saturday November 12 and so it won’t be shown live on UK television. This is to comply with the ‘blackout’ regulation on televised coverage between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on a Saturday.

Under the rules, broadcasting rights are restricted for clubs in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. Not all is lost, though, as highlights will be available for Sky Sports subscribers on the Sky Sports app around 15-30 minutes after the final whistle.

The blackout rule was introduced way back in the 1960s, and was brought in to boost crowd attendances around the country. There are currently no plans to get rid of the rule anytime soon.

Despite the game not being on TV, you can still keep up with it. You can tune in to Gillette Soccer Saturday as Jeff Stelling and his team of in-studio pundits, and some journalists at selected grounds around the country keep you up to date with all of the latest scores.
