Crystal Palace have been told they will need to pay around £10million if they are to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer.

Manchester United are open to selling the Nottingham Forest target but want a fee that reflects the goalkeeper’s standing as one of the best English best shot-stoppers in the game.

Crystal Palace are looking for another goalkeeper following Vicente Guaita's insistence to return to Spain after being the number in south London for the last three years.

Roy Hodgson’s side are desperate for another man in a summer in which they lost Wilfried Zaha but got boosted by news that Michael Olise turned down the chance to sign for Chelsea and remain at the club, signing a new four-year deal.

Nottingham Forest were the front-runner for Hendersen but Manchester United have broken talks after a fee could not be agreed despite weeks of negotiations.

According to the Sun, Roy Hodgson’s men are also looking at Southampton’s Alex McCarthy and have asked about Daniel Iversen at Leicester.

Henderson and current Palace No 1 Sam Johnstone are close pals and would be battling for the first-team jersey as the Eagles look to get on with life without Wilfried Zaha.

Crystal Palace have had a strong start to the league with an impressive win against Sheffield United. They will now take on Arsenal this evening in their second league game of the season.

Sources say Dean Henderson is desperate to leave Manchester United as he looks to get into a team where he will play games and give himself a chance of making England’s team for the European championship next year.
