Marc Guehi transfer latest: Arsenal 'make decision', Crystal Palace 'asking price', Chelsea 'clause'
Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi continues to be linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, but a deal may not be forthcoming based on recent reports. The Eagles have reportedly slapped a huge price tag on their star defender after Euro 2024, where Guehi put in some exemplary performances.
Having lost Michael Olise this summer, Palace find themselves in a strong position when it comes to negotiations over other players, and they also know there is likely to be interest in Eberechi Eze this summer. Guehi has reportedly attracted attention from a number of Premier League clubs, but his options appear to be reducing by the day due to his club’s firm stance. Here we round up all the latest transfer news surrounding Guehi as the centre-back enjoys his holidays ahead of returning to base.

Arsenal are said to be moving away from a possible deal for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi. The Times say Palace are demanding more than £70million for their England defender.
The Gunners were said to be involved in the race to land Guehi this summer, but they have moved on to other targets having learned the asking price. Arsenal are still pushing to land Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, but they are struggling to agree a fee, with the Italian club asking for £45million. With that in mind, Arsenal are not likely to pay £70million or more.
Guehi is under contract until 2026 as things stand.
Liverpool links
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Guehi this summer as they look to add a new centre-back under Arne Slot. But it’s unclear how much they are willing to pay to land a new defender, and £70million would likely be seen as too much as they bid to strengthen in other areas.
The Reds were also linked with a move for Leny Yoro, who has since agreed to join Manchester United. Options are limited, but Liverpool are likely to search for a less pricey centre-back unless Palace lower their demands.

Guehi left Chelsea to join Palace on an £18million deal in 2021, but the Blues retained a sell-on fee in the deal. That clause is said to be worth 20%, giving the Blues a hefty windfall should Guehi move on for big money.
The Blues have also been linked with a move for the England international, and if they were to sign him, they would be due a discount by way off the sell-on fee. Though, it does not seem likely they will spend that much on a centre-back this summer.
What Guehi has said
Guehi hasn’t said much at all about his future, but speaking about his performances and quality during Euro 2024, he said: “My strengths are to be continued. I don’t really know. I’m continuously developing everything at the moment.
"I’m trying to get better in every single department of my game, whether that’s communication, distribution or defending. I think hopefully in the future there’s more bits to come from myself."
