Marc Guehi Crystal Palace exit latest: Newcastle United 'talks', Liverpool 'decision', Chelsea fee
All the latest on a possible transfer involving Crystal Palce star Marc Guehi this summer.
Crystal Palace face an anxious few weeks as they bid to keep hold of star midfielder Marc Guehi. It was always going to be a difficult summer for Oliver Glasner, who came into this summer knowing the club would have to fight to keep hold of its best players.

Michael Olise’s departure was inevitable, and the attacker joined Bayern Munich on a £50million deal early in the summer, but now Palace are battling to keep hold of Eberechi Eze and Guehi. Here we round up the latest news surrounding the future of the latter.
Newcastle chase
Newcastle United are the main pursuers of Guehi this summer, with talks reportedly ongoing between the Magpies and Palace over a possible deal. The Daily Mail say the Eagles are demanding as much as £60million to sanction a sale for the England centre-back.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said of transfer efforts over the weekend: “'Our efforts in the transfer market are ongoing. I'm out of touch with all of those movements. I know we're trying. Hopefully, we can bring you news soon. I'm not going to talk about individual deals.”
With money in the bank from Olise, palace are expected to play hardball over any Guehi sale, with no pressure to sell, while they know it will prove costly to properly replace Guehi in the final month of the transfer window.
It’s worth keeping in mind that Chelsea have a sell-on fee of 20%, meaning they will take a chunk from any sale of Guehi.
Liverpool ‘interest’
A number of Premier League clubs are said to be interested in Guehi, but it’s likely only a select few can actually afford a deal. Liverpool are in need of a centre-back, and they have been linked with a deal for the 24-year-old this summer.
But in a fresh boost for Palace, The Boot Room report that Liverpool have decided they will not rival Newcastle with a bid of their own for Guehi this summer. The Reds are set to look elsewhere with a number of positions to strengthen ahead of the new campaign.
What has been said
Speaking back in May, Palace boss Glasner said: “I'm always optimistic as all these players have contracts with Crystal Palace. It’s May and many situations can change. Nothing is 100 per cent but he’s under contract, he [Guehi] is a good player, he’s our captain, so I'm very positive and confident that he plays for Crystal Palace.”
