Hull City are expected to win the race for Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei ahead of the January transfer window. The Tigers’ boss Liam Rosenior worked with the youngster at Derby County and wants to reunite in East Yorkshire next month.

According to reporter Barry Cooper in Hull Live’s Q & A, there is a ‘genuine expectation’ that the Championship club will secure a temporary deal for him. The forward only made the move to Selhurst Park over the summer.

Cooper has said: “I think there’s a genuine expectation that it will happen. City the only serious bidders and with Liam’s relationship, you’d expect it to be a deal that gets done.”

Journalist Alan Nixon claimed last week on his Patreon page that Swansea City had joined the battle for his signature. However, Rosenior’s links could give his side the edge in this transfer pursuit.

Ebiowei, 19, was snapped up by Crystal Palace following Derby’s relegation to League One and will be seen as a decent long-term option by the Premier League outfit. He penned a long-term deal and has made three appearances in all competitions so far this term.

The Londoner has also played for the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Rangers in the past and needs to get some regular game time under his belt again, like he did in the last campaign at Pride Park. A loan switch to Hull would help boost his development and get some more experience as they look to climb up the table.
