Oliver Glasner takes another step in freezing out Crystal Palace star as feud rumbles on
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Crystal Palace star Rob Holding faces an uncertain future having seemingly fallen out with Oliver Glasner. After spending seven years as a back-up defender at Arsenal, at least for the most part, it was though the centre-back would go on to finally become a starter after joining Palace on deadline day of the 2023 summer window.
But that hasn’t been the case, with Holding yet to make a single league appearance for the Eagles. while he has only made one appearance on the bench so far this season. The £4million signing appears to have fallen out with Glasner, or at least fallen foul of his standards, with the Palace boss explaining in September: “Rob [Holding] is training individually at the moment. We will talk together. He knows the reason, but it is something that stays between Rob and me. Nothing public.”

Hide AdThe Boot Room report that Holding fell out with Glasner after a clash with West Ham in August. It’s claimed the centre-back refused to take part in a post-game warm-down session after not coming off the bench, and Glasner was left furious with the decision.
As a result, the centre-back has been told to train with the under-21s, and he removed all mention of Palace from his social media accounts in response. With Holding included in Palace’s 25-man Premier League squad, the situation could yet change, but the defender is currently frozen out from the first team.
The clearest example came in the form of the 2024/25 first-team photo, which was released this week. Holding was not included in the image despite being part of the Premier League squad for between September and January. Holding is now 29 years of age, and having racked up only racked up 125 league appearances during his career so far, it looks as though more time will be wasted over the coming months unless a resolution is found.
