Dortmund have an interesting mode of recruitment, where they target promising English talents and transform them into superstars, before selling them for big money to Premier League clubs.

Jadon Sancho is a prime example. The forward signed for Dortmund in 2017 from Manchester City and within four years was sold to Manchester United for almost £ 80 million.

Jude Bellingham, strongly linked to both Liverpool and Real Madrid is another case in point, of players who have been signed just before reaching their peak, and are now household names in world football.

Junior Dixon still plays for the Crystal Palace under-18 team, having made his debut just last year, but there are talks that the club see him as the next big project and in the coming months will be slowly introduced into the first team.

The first team has been transformed since Patrick Vieira took over at the start of last season, becoming a very expansive side that is easy on the eye.

One of the owners, Steve Parish, is determined to make the club one of the attractive brands in the Premier League and wants Selhurst Park to be the hotbed of all English talents in London.

Last week they recorded their second Premier League win of the season, coming from behind to beat Leeds United 2-1 and will now hope to see another win when they travel to Leicester on Saturday.
