Fulham battling Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace to sign Chelsea’s forgotten star

Fulham are hoping to agree a deal with Chelsea in the coming days for Callum Hudson-Odoi after agreeing personal terms with the player.

Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly agreed personal terms with Fulham as he closes in on an exit following a frustrating last two years at Stamford Bridge.

Callum spent last season away at Leverkusen but has since returned and is training with the under-21s at Cobham as his future is being sorted.

Earlier in the summer, Crystal Palace had shown enough interest, and having been born in that part of London, a move to the Eagles would have been ideal for both parties. Nottingham Forest then showed up with Odoi having a great relationship with manager Steve Cooper who he worked with at England under-17.

Lazio have also been in touch with Chelsea to enquire about his situation even though reports say it is Fulham who have made the best impression by already agreeing personal terms with the player.

The attraction however would be to be reunited with Maurizio Sarri who gave him his debut as Chelsea's boss and he arguably played his best football under the Italian manager.

The 22-year-old is in the final 12 months of his Chelsea contract and there had been suggestions from the Chelsea board to have him at least reduce his wages to half and then join the team in pre-season if he impressed the new manager, then he might get the chance to relaunch his career in west London.

The other part of the deal was also to try to get him to reduce wages again and possibly find a new club with Chelsea cutting their losses. Fulham are beginning to put their team together having already made giants strikes in talks to sign Raul Jimenez, Mohammed Salisu and Calvin Bassey for over £30million.
