Ex-Man Utd and Crystal Palace star 'likely' to make £4m transfer - has 68 Premier League goals

Wilfried Zaha refused to sign a new Crystal Palace contract last summer but has now been linked with a move back to the Premier League.

Former Crystal Palace and Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha could be sold by Turkish side Galatasaray just six months after joining the Super Lig side on a free transfer.

That's according to Turkish transfer outlet Nexus Sports who claim that Galatasaray are 'likely' to look to make €4-5 million by selling the player at the halfway point in the season. Zaha has made 21 appearances for the club in all competitions this season, netting seven goals, including one against his former Red Devils side in the Champions League.

Crystal Palace had been keen to keep their star man and are believed to have offered the 31-year-old a huge £200,000 a week contract towards the end of last season, which he turned down in favour of a new challenge. Zaha bagged seven goals for the Eagles last season in an injury-ridden campaign.

The Guardian sports reporter Ed Aarons picked up on news that Zaha could be set for a swift exit from Turkey, with Crystal Palace inevitably quickly touted as an obvious destination, writing that the player was "happy" at Galatasaray "despite reports that he could be put up for sale this month".

Zaha racked up 458 appearances for Crystal Palace over two permanent contracts and two loan spells. Manchester United paid around £15 million for the star's services in January 2013 but the Ivory Coast international would only make four senior appearances for the Manchester giants before being shipped back to south London.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson had said he was 'really sad' to see Zaha leave the club last summer but has since backed his current side's stars to fill that void. Last month, Hodgson said: “Every club needs players that get the crowd buzzing and we have been blessed with Wilf through the years and now we have Olise and also we have Eberechi Eze.

"We have two players like that who can do that job and get the crowd buzzing and I think the crowd are very much behind the team and I think they will recognise that there are some good moments ahead for this football club.”
