Hide AdAccording to reports on TalkSport, ex-Chelsea legend Lampard wants the young midfielder, who scored eight goals for Crystal Palace in the Premier League last season, to be the heartbeat of his team as he eyes a complete rebuild of his squad.
Patrick Vieira’s Palace believed they would be first choice if it became clear that Gallagher would be best served with another loan deal, but all that could change with Everton willing to pay more for the loan fee and increase the player’s wages.
LondonWorld understands that Gallagher gave Vieira his word that he would be first on the list if the opportunity to go out on loan was available, but Frank Lampard is equally highly thought of and has excellent connections at Chelsea.
Everton have more money than Palace, and so the decision could be taken out of the midfielder’s hands if Chelsea decide to go with the highest bidder.

What Conor Gallagher had said about his future
The Chelsea midfielder knows he is a man in demand but will have to think carefully before deciding where he plays next.
He is aware that Everton have entered the race and even though Palace has been a special place, like every professional footballer, he needs to make the next step and get it right.
Gallagher said: “I’ll say again. At Palace this season, it’s been incredible and I’ve loved every minute of it.

“But, you know, the season has just finished and I’ve come straight here with England.
“I know it’s not what you want to hear, it’s boring but it’s true.
“I’ve not thought about it and I’m just focused on the four games here with England.”
Gallagher’s first choice is to try and break into the Chelsea team, but he will know that there will be plenty more fish in the sea if he was to decide to look elsewhere.
