Crystal Palace expected starting XI vs Southampton: Mitchell and Edouard to start but big call on Eze made

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira will look to make some changes to his team at St Mary’s.

Crystal Palace still have work to do to secure their Premier League status for next season, but not that they are in any danger of going down.

Odsonne Edouard, signed from Celtic in the summer, got a brace on his debut and has six goals to his name, but has barely played this year.

He’ll be looking to get his Selhurst Park career back on track.

Then there is the mercurial Eberechi Eze, who suffered a bad ankle injury and has taken time to return to full fitness.

He’s shown he is getting back to his best in recent times, but even he would want to enjoy his first win as a starter this season.

The Eagles occupy 14th in the league table, and are 10 points from 18th placed Everton, but there is work to be done both on and off the pitch before the season ends.

For the manager, some players have stood up including the signing of Marc Guehi and the ever-willing Tyrick Mitchell who has been brilliant.

The latter missed the draw against Leeds and will be fresh for this afternoon’s encounter.

So, with so much work to be done and the Eagles looking forward to their first win in almost a month, here is how Patrick Vieira is expected to line up against Southampton.
