Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is believed to be on Sevilla’s radar. The Spanish side could make a swoop for the Frenchman this summer.

According to a report by Fichajes, the attacker is on the La Liga club’s ‘list’ of potential targets ahead of the next transfer window. He was linked with a switch to fellow Premier League side Everton in January but he ended up staying put beyond the deadline.

Crystal Palace landed the forward on an initial loan deal in 2021 before making his move permanent shortly after. He has since made 56 appearances for the London outfit in all competitions and has chipped in with nine goals.

However, he has struggled for form in this campaign and has found the net only once. He provides Patrick Viera with competition for places up top but has hardly been prolific.

Prior to his transfer to Selhurst Park, the 25-year-old played for Mainz in Germany and fired 27 goals in 71 outings altogether. He has also played LB Châteauroux, Lyon and Le Havre in the past in his native France.

Crystal Palace have a decision to make on his long-term future when this season is over. Sevilla are being linked and they are currently sat in 12th place in the Spanish top flight.
