Crystal Palace player ratings: Plenty of 5/10s and only just one 6/10 in 1-0 Chelsea loss
The player ratings from Crystal Palace vs Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge where the Eagles just fell short.
Crystal Palace lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League to slump to their third straight defeat in all competitions.
Kai Havertz guided a Conor Gallagher cross past Guaita in post, but in reality the marking on the Palace defence could have been better as his markers lost him.
Patrick Vieira named a 4-2-3-1 system with Jordan Ayew the lead striker tasked with chasing the Chelsea defence.
In all fairness- Palace gave a good account of themselves and could have at least got a point if they could finish, but that is the nature of things at the moment, everything seems to be going against the Eagles.
Chelsea themselves came into the game at the back of three disappointing defeats and manager Graham Potter made changes to his team too including a start for Conor Gallagher who scored the winner at Selhurst when these two teams met earlier in the season.
Potter was looking to avoid a dire record of being the first Chelsea manager to lose his first two London derbies since 1962- and Palace will be kicking themselves given how terrible Chelsea have been in recent weeks.
The defeat still leaves the Eagles 12th on the league table but Patrick Vieira’s side have now not won any of the London derbies they have been involved in this season and the pressure will begin to mount on their manager.
Patrick Vieira spoke about the need to keep working hard but after this performance at Stamford Bridge, he might have to ask his bosses to help him with some new signings.
Here is how we rated every one out there today:

1. Vicente Guaita-6
Unreal save from the Palace number one from a Silva strike in the first half. Not much he could do about the Havertz goal.

2. Wilfried Zaha- 5
Zaha’s work rate is quite underrated and here he was running and chasing everything to try and keep his team in the game.

3. Jordan Ayew-6
The Ghanaian was tasked with leading the line and even though he doesn’t score a lot, you can’t fault him for lack of effort

4. Cheick Doucoure-7
One of the best players for Palace. Hurried and chased every ball.
