Crystal Palace named favourites to land £50m full-back ahead of Leeds United and Everton

Crystal Palace have been linked with a reunion with Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Crystal Palace are thought to be considering a surprise reunion with Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to reports.

The Eagles’ interest in their former right-back was publicised last week and talk has heated up since, with the London club now favourites to snap him up this summer.

Wan-Bissaka left Selhurst Park to join the Red Devils for £50 million in 2019 but has since fallen down the pecking order under Ralf Rangnick, making only six league appearances this year.

With two years left on his contract and a hefty wage from United, Palace could consider bringing the right-back in on loan rather than a permanent move.

Patrick Vieira currently opts to play Nathaniel Clyne in AWB’s position and the former Liverpool man has impressed as of late, however his current deal expires this summer and has recently turned 31 - seven years older than his Man United counterpart.

If the Eagles are to make an approach for Wan-Bissaka in the summer then they could face stiff competition.

According to The Sun, Jose Mourinho is keen to bring AWB to Roma.

The Portuguese left Old Trafford six months before Wan-Bissaka joined the Red Devils, but is clearly a fan and is eager to bring him to Italy alongside fellow Englishman, Tammy Abraham.

AWB ‘wants to stay’

While Wan-Bissaka has clearly grown frustrated by his lack of game time, United insider Jonathan Shrager has revealed that the defender is hoping to stay at Old Trafford next season and will wait to talk with Erik ten Hag to see if he is in the Dutchman’s plans.

The former Ajax manager is set to join the club at the end of the current season and is could be preparing for a major rebuild.
