Former striker finds new club

Former Palace man Dwight Gayle has left Newcastle United on a permanent basis.

The striker, who played at Selhurst Park from 2013 to 2016, has dropped back into the Championship now.

He has signed for Stoke City on a two-year contract and will be looking to get plenty of game time under his belt with the Potters.

Gayle scored 25 goals in 74 games for the Eagles during his time in South London and has spent the past six years in Newcastle.
