Crystal Palace lodge transfer ‘approach’ and former player finds new club

The latest Crystal Palace news and rumours on Friday.

Crystal Palace have been in action today against fellow Premier League side Leeds United in Australia.

The Eagles fell behind in Brisbane after Rodrigo scored for their opponents from the spot.

However, Patrick Viera’s side levelled it up through striker Jean-Philippe Mateta on 67 minutes and the game ended 1-1.

Here is a look at the latest news coming out of the club today....

Defender having medical

Bayern Munich defender Chris Richards is reportedly edging ever closer to a move to Crystal Palace.

The centre-back spent last season on loan in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim.

He is now having a medical in London, as per 90min.

Winger move made

Crystal Palace have apparently made a move to sign Burnley winger Dwight McNeil.

The attacker was part of the Clarets side relegated to the Championship last term but he could now be thrown a Premier League lifeline in this transfer window.

Sky Sports report the Eagles have made an ‘approach’ for him along with rivals West Ham United.

Former striker finds new club

Former Palace man Dwight Gayle has left Newcastle United on a permanent basis.

The striker, who played at Selhurst Park from 2013 to 2016, has dropped back into the Championship now.

He has signed for Stoke City on a two-year contract and will be looking to get plenty of game time under his belt with the Potters.

Gayle scored 25 goals in 74 games for the Eagles during his time in South London and has spent the past six years in Newcastle.
