Liverpool have been faultless so far, and they won in the Carabao Cup during the week, defeating Southampton. Here we round up all the early injury news surrounding both teams heading into the Selhurst Park clash.

Hugo Ekitike - Out (Suspended)

Ekitike is suspended after getting sent off in the cup during the week. He took his shirt off to celebrate a goal, leading to a second yellow card. Arne Slot said after the game: “I haven’t played at this level, but I did score a few goals, and if I would have scored a goal like this, I would have turned around and walked up to Federico Chiesa and said, 'This goal is all about you, this is not about me.' So, yeah, needless, not smart. You call it stupid. I call it stupid.”

Giovanni Leoni - Out

Leoni picked up an issue during the week. Slot said: “For him, it didn’t feel good immediately, but this is something now we have to assess. Normally, these things don’t happen in five to 10 minutes, and you have to wait... then maybe do an MRI scan to know more about how serious it is.” He will almost certainly miss this one.

Walter Benitez - Out

Glasner has confirmed that Benitez is going to be out until after this game. He said last week: “He dislocated his little finger, and he needs to rest now, so he will miss West Ham. We are hopeful he can come back after the Liverpool game.”

Chadi Riad - Out

Glasner has confirmed: “We think Chadi will return after his ACL [injury] in October or November. Now it looks like the timeline of Cheicky is more or less the same.” Riad suffered a serious knee injury early in the new year.

Cheick Doucoure - Out

Glasner said around three weeks ago: “We hoped that Cheicky could return for the Austria camp for training. We think Chadi [Riad] will return after his ACL [injury] in October or November. Now it looks like the timeline of Cheicky is more or less the same.”

Yeremy Pino - Doubt

Pino picked up a knee injury last weekend, with Glasner saying: “He had pain in his knee. We don't know exactly what it is, so we will assess him tomorrow, and I think he will have a scan. Hopefully, it's not too serious, but he couldn't continue playing.” The winger is expected to miss this one, but he will go down as a doubt until confirmed otherwise.

Ismaila Sarr - Doubt

Sarr has a chance of returning, with Glasner saying last week: “Ismaila will start to train with us on Sunday after the West Ham game.”

Caleb Kporha - Out

Glasner has said: “Caleb has problems with his back and is not able to train and has been out the whole pre-season - we don’t know when he will return.” There has been no update on Kporha’s situation since that early August update.
