Crystal Palace have been forced to bring in James Tomkins after Nathaniel Clyne who looked to have rolled his ankle in the game against Chelsea.

The Palace defender was enjoying a good game but the blow happened after Thiago Silva, quite fortunate to still be on the pitch, jumped to set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his first Chelsea goal.

Odsonne Edouard had given Palace the lead with a well taken strike after being set-up by Jordan Aew to light up Selhurst in the first half.

The entire mood of the stadium changed after the Chelsea goal and the worrying injury to Nathaniel Clyne who has been one of the best players for the Eagles since Patrick Vieira took over.

The injury comes at a time when Palace are already without the dependable Joachim Andersen, forced out of the game due to a calf problem he picked up in training.

There is a feel good factor around Selhurst but they have only one win in the Premier League and will like to get more points on the table especially as they are playing very well.

On the brighter side- star man Wilfried Zaha has four goals already this season but there are concerns at the back with Tyrick Mitchell who was one of the best players from last season struggling for form.

Patrick Vieira will however be encouraged by the performance of his team in the first half having seen his team match Chelsea in every department in the game.
