Palace eye defender

Crystal Palace are said to be interested in a deal to sign Middlesbrough centre-back Rav van den Berg in January. Eagles boss Oliver Glasner is fighting for his job currently, with Palace having only won one game all season.

According to Football Insider, Palace like the look of van den Berg as they look to find a remedy to their poor start. The 6ft4” defender is impressing in the Championship at the age of 20, and it’s no secret Palace need to replace Marc Guehi in the long term.

Brownhill chase

West Ham and Fulham are both said to be interested in Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill. The midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season, and the Clarets are struggling to tie him down to a new one.

Brownhill has scored five in 16 appearances, and he has already proved that he can keep up in the Premier League having been one of Burnley’s few steady performers at the top level. According to The Boot Room, Fulham, West Ham and a number of other clubs are interested in snatching Brownhill away, either on a discounted deal in January or a free deal next summer.

Guimaraes planning to stay

Bruno Guimaraes does not sound as though he is plotting a move away from the club amid links with top clubs around Europe. He told Globo Esporte: "I believe that at my club I am an idol and I have a lot of respect. I am the captain of Newcastle and it is something that if you had asked me three years ago, my biggest dream would have been to play in the Premier League. Playing, being an idol, being captain is something wonderful. I really like Newcastle.

"Of course, having Manchester City’s suggestions shows that I am at a high level, but it was nothing more than suggestions. I know that Guardiola likes my football, it is normal to have great coaches who admire your football. We have spoken once, I praised his work, he praised my work, but it was nothing more than that."
