First reported by the Daily Express, the arrival of Johnstone would see a battle for the No1 spot with Vicente Guaita.

Johnstone, who is six years younger than Guaita, is seen as a long-term replacement for the Spaniard.

It was reported the Dutchman will not consider Wan-Bissaka part of his plans when arrives at Old Trafford.

Palace are rumoured to want to bring the defender back to Selhurst Park, with United open to letting the player leave.

The player left Palace for £50m in 2019. A reduced fee is expected to be accepted for the player if he decides to leave Manchester.

Palace target Silva

The Football Insider have reported that Crystal Palace are interested in signing 22-year-old midfielder Ederson Silva.

The Salernitana player has put in some impressive displays since the turn of the year, attracting the attention of Everton also.

Silva only joined the club in January, so it may prove difficult to lure him away from Italy this summer.
