Sterling to Palace links

Crystal Palace have been named as one of the possible suitors for Raheem Sterling as the winger prepares to leave Chelsea this summer. Sterling has told he is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge under Enzo Maresca, and he is now looking for a new club. According to The Standard, a number of Premier League clubs are interested.

The Eagles are said to be one of them as they look to add competition to the flanks following the departure of Michael Olise. Sterling is said to want to remain in England, and there have been claims he will reduce his £325,000-per-week wage to secure a move. The Daily Mail say Palace are exploring the possible conditions of a deal.

Liverpool ‘very close’ to deal

Liverpool are finally said to be close to a signing. It’s claimed the Reds are close to wrapping up a deal for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will return to Los Ché on loan ahead of linking up the Reds ahead of next season.

“For Mamardashvili, it’s very close. In this case, it's not done yet. From what I'm hearing, there is still something to do in terms of deal structure, but the fee has been agreed, and it's going to be 35 million euros, plus a sell-on clause for Valencia,” Fabrizio Romano told Give Me Sport.

“The original plan with this deal was for Mamardashvili to go on loan to Bournemouth for one season and then to Liverpool in 2025, but then this option collapsed, and so Mamardashvili will stay at Valencia one season alone and then join Liverpool in the summer of 2025, so this is the plan. The player has already accepted all the conditions, financially and from a technical point of view. Now, it’s on the club.”

Fulham ‘make offer’

Fulham are now said to have submitted an ‘official offer’ for Lyon star Rayan Cherki as they continue their bold summer transfer window. The Cottagers added to the signing of Emile Smith Rowe by signing Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace for £30million on Friday.

The Athletic now say the Cottagers have lodged a bid for Cherki, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer. It’s claimed Fulham have offered £12million plus add-ons for the creative midfielder.
