Crystal Palace defender begs club to sign players after one win in 11 Premier League games

Crystal Palace continued their recent slump with a 5-0 defeat at the Emirates against Arsenal.

Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen hopes the club can bring new faces and refresh the squad before the winter transfer window shuts. Palace have won only one of their last 11 Premier League games. They are stuck in 14th in the league table and have crashed out of the FA Cup.

The Eagles fans directed their frustration at the club's situation towards the owners with a banner that read at the Emirates: "Wasted potential on and off the pitch and weak decisions taking us backwards."

Asked what he thought about the club's situation and recent results, defender Andersen told SouthLondon Press: “Hopefully, now [we’re] in the transfer window, we can sign a few more players to get some extra depth – some extra quality added to the team. Up-front and wherever we need it.

“Let’s see what the club can do. We played six months without Zaha – he was a top player. Against Everton, we missed Olise. He’s our player who can do those kinds of things – bring a little bit of magic when we need it.

“Ebs also played a good game (against Everton) but missed the last pass, the last finish to score. We have the players capable of doing that.

“He [Eze] is a top player, obviously, and already so many teams have him on their list. For me, Eze is one of our best players and he’s shown that for some years. He’s also around the English team – he has a huge future.”

The south London club are five points above the relegation zone but have played a game more than Luton in 18th.
