'He's touch and go": Crystal Palace boost as David Moyes provides worrying injury update of West Ham star

West Ham were knocked out of Europe in midweek and will arrive at Selhurst looking to bounce back.

West Ham manager David Moyes says Jarrod Bowen is 'touch and go' ahead of their Premier League game against Crystal Palace this weekend. The Hammers are wounded by their European exit and will miss six players Kalvin Phillips and Alphonse Areola.

The challenge for David Moyes is to lift his team and ensure they secure European football next season, with the club currently eighth. They need to finish sixth or seventh to ensure that.

They will need a win at Selhurst to keep that hope of European football alive with teams around them playing fewer games. Asked if Bowen who started the game against Bayer Leverkusen was in a position to start two games in a week, the West Ham manager said: “He’s touch and go for the Leverkusen game and had an injection to play. He needs to be assessed.”

Palace looking for consistency

The Eagles will go into the game against the Hammers looking for their first back-to-back league wins after beating Liverpool at Anfield.

They have had their fair share of injury concerns but having Michael Olise who made his first start in months at Anfield and Eze who scored what turned out to be the winner will boost Oliver Glasner's side.

The south London club are currently 14th on the league table and they have never finished lower than that in their 10-year stay in the Premier League.

Both sides have scored in the past 13 meetings since West Ham's 3-0 victory in 2017 so expect that there will be goals in this one.
