Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa FA Cup semi-final injury news as 2 ruled out and 1 doubt

Crystal Palace are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they take on Aston Villa in their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium. The Eagles picked up another valuable point in the Premier League during the week, drawing away from home with Arsenal, and Oliver Glasner managed to do so while resting Will Hughes and Jean-Philippe Mateta, who both came off the bench.
Villa came up short against Manchester City on Tuesday night, a bruising result in their pursuit of a top five spot, but they will be thirsty for silverware as they prepare to make a longer trip to Wembley compared to that of their opponents.

Hide AdPalace star Maxime Lacroix has spoken ahead of this one, telling the club website: “When you want to prepare for a game like the semi-finals, you always need to be 100%, especially against these types of teams like Arsenal. Today we showed our face, we showed our DNA, and we feel we can compete against these types of teams.
“This is a team that has a really good belief and we are a family and everyone wants to fight for each other. In the Premier League, it's always ‘Champions League week’ – when you play, every time. So now, I think it's the beginning of a hopefully good week for us.”
Palace boss Glasner has said: “It was a great performance. It will help us, because I think it was the best performance for weeks now and this was important. We were talking about entering the semi-final with belief, with courage and with confidence, and this is what we can take from today. We have to show the same focus, the same discipline, the same belief, the same confidence, and the same tactical discipline in and out of possession. We have to move the ball so quickly like we did today. We have to be focused in our set plays, in attack and in defence, and this will be important.
“But of course, we need the talent, we need the quality of our players, we need the spirit, we need the tactical discipline, and of course we need our heart and our mind. I think especially for these two, this performance was very positive. We’re very excited. I think everyone who is connected with Palace is very excited, but I think on the other side, it's also important to stay calm. It's a football game, and we showed today that we are in good shape. Aston Villa are in great shape as well.”

Hide AdAhead of the big game, we have rounded up the latest injury news surrounding both teams, or more specifically Palace, because Aston Villa remarkably have a clean bill of health in their squad as they head to Wembley.
Ben Chilwell - Doubt
Glasner confirmed before the Arsenal game: “No [new] injury concerns, but sickness - Ben Chilwell is sick, unfortunately. He should have started but he couldn't come today to training, and couldn't train, so he's not available - all others are fit." Chilwell should be back in contention, but we will await confirmation on Friday.
Chadi Riad - Out
Riad is out until towards the end of 2025 after an ACL rupture. Glasner said at the time: “Chadi has ruptured his ACL, so we have lost [him] for the rest of the season and even longer. There was no impact, and Chadi as well, it was just a normal situation in training ' so it's really frustrating.”
Cheick Doucoure - Out
Doucoure will also be absent long-term with a knee injury. Glasner said: “After further assessments, Cheicky needs surgery on his knee, so we have lost [him] for the rest of the season. We hope [he] will return for pre-season.”
