Crystal Palace 'have approached' European club for next signing after Jaydee Canvot
Crystal Palace are already working on their next deal after Jaydee Canvot and Yeremy Pino.
Crystal Palace are stepping up their summer transfer action in a big way as they look to beat Monday’s summer transfer deadline. The Eagles need more depth in their squad as they prepare for a Conference League campaign after qualifying on Thursday night.

Oliver Glasner has already lost Eberechi Eze, and there is a strong chance another vital player in Marc Guehi could follow before the window slams shut. Palace are looking to pre-empt that departure by signing Jaydee Canvot.
Canvot is expected to join Toulouse, with Fabrizio Romano posting on X: "Crystal Palace agree deal to sign French centre back Jaydee Canvot after exclusive story revealed last week. CPFC finalising documents exchange with Toulouse. Here we go." The centre-back will provide strong competition at the back, and Palace will be hoping he proves just as smart a signing as Maxence Lacroix, who joined last summer.
But Palace won’t stop there, with a report from journalist Ed Aarons claiming that Monaco centre-back Mohammed Salisu is a target. He posted on X: “Understand that Crystal Palace have approached Monaco about a loan deal for Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu. Palace also in for Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji but waiting for a decision from the Switzerland defender, who also has interest from Galatasaray and Bayer Leverkusen.”
Salisu has been with Monaco since 2023, making only 27 league appearances since, but he has Premier League experience having spent three years with Southampton from 2020 to 2023, making 68 league appearances during that time.
Glasner desperate for Guehi to stay
Glasner will be desperate for more depth at the back, especially given the possibility that Guehi will leave before the end of the window. Liverpool are said to be the most likely to club to get his signature at this stage, but it’s not impossible that Palace manage to keep hold of him.
Glasner warned this week that replacing Guehi would be ‘almost impossible’. He said: “From my side, it’s now Friday and the window closes on Monday, he has to [stay].
“He has to because it’s not possible, I think, at the moment to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League, being a starter for Crystal Palace, being consistent. When we see our foundation of the success we’ve had in the last few months, it’s our defence. Marc is a crucial part, he’s the captain, English international and has the most experience. Getting the right replacement in now, I think, is almost impossible.”
