Crystal Palace are exploring the idea of signing Callum Hudson-Odoi on-loan from Chelsea this summer after he was snubbed by Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea are looking to offload a number of their high earners and have already sold Timo Werner back to RB Leipzig, while allowing record signing Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on-loan.

Last season’s utility defender Malang Sarr has also been shipped out to Monaco on-loan with an option to buy as Thomas Tuchel clears the desk in anticipation of new arrivals.

Hakim Ziyech who arrived from Ajax a couple of seasons ago has also been  strongly linked with a move away this summer, while Marco Alonso is on the verge of leaving to Barcelona joining Andreas Christensen, who left after his contract had expired.

One of the players that Chelsea are looking at to add skill, pace and power is Wilfried Zaha, who is in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park.

The Ivorian is not getting any younger and has been thinking about his next move as that is likely to be his last big pay cheque.

The chance to play at Chelsea might be his last at a top team, after his experiment with Manchester United a few years ago failed.

That interest from Chelsea has also opened the door for Palace to explore the option of bringing in Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is not in the plans of the manager this season.

The winger travelled with the Chelsea team to Everton with the hopes of getting minutes under his belt, but was left out of the side in a move that will tell him he will need to look elsewhere for minutes.

Hudson-Odoi has since told Chelsea that he would like to test a loan spell, with Southampton, Dortmund and Crystal Palace all now looking at the economics of such a deal.

Palace have a good relationship with Chelsea, having successful struck loan deals for Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher recently.

A move back to south London would be tempting for Hudson-Odoi, as he was born there and educated in Croydon.

The success of players like Gallagher will serve as an extra incentive to get his career back on track.
