Aston Villa have taken only seven points from a possible 18 at home since Unai Emery took over, including defeats to Leicester and Arsenal.

Crystal Palace haven’t also won a league game this year but have picked up points against Brentford and Liverpool in their last two games.

Hosts Aston Villa have been very good on the road but can’t seem to hack it at home following successive home defeats- but they will hope to change that when Patrick Vieira’s Eagles come to town.

With just eight wins all season for the visitors- the game promises to be an interesting encounter but Villa are sweating over the fitness of star midfielder Philippe Coutinho who missed the Everton win due to a late hamstring injury.

Diego Carlos is also likely to miss this one, the Brazilian is finally back in training but he still has some catching up to do and building fitness before he could be considered for a Premier League game.

Robin Olsen has also not played in the last three matches due to an unspecified injury while back-up  goalkeeper Jed Steer only just returned to group training this week.

Aston Villa had lost their last three games before beating Everton over the weekend while Crystal Palace have drawn all their last three since losing to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The south London side will also hope they have Wilfried Zaha back this weekend following his hamstring injury against Newcastle that has seen him miss the last four games.
