Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace have a busy January ahead of them as they look to cement their position in the Premier League. Who will the Eagles look to add to their ranks in the winter transfer window?

We’ll be looking at three full-backs who have been linked with moves to Selhurst Park recently. One of them is a former Palace player, who left south London for Manchester back in 2019.

Also, Palace are eyeing up a French right-back who currently plays his football for Galatasaray. With Liverpool also in the hunt for his services, Vieira and company are facing stiff competition for his signature.

As well as this, the Eagles are monitoring a Spanish left-back who plays for Almería. However, with at least two other Premier League clubs also showing interest - including one of Palace’s bitterest rivals - the race to sign him is hotly contested.

Crystal Palace chasing French right back

According to Turkish-Football, Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on signing Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey for a fee that could amount to £14 million. Interest in the 22-year-old is thought to be high, with Liverpool also seeking his signature.

Vieira is reportedly a fan of the Frenchman and is hopeful that the Eagles can bring him on board. Despite this, Galatasaray are unwilling to let Boey go in January - they want him to remain in Turkey for the rest of the season as they continue their title charge.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, former Palace academy graduate, could make a shock return to the club after falling out of favour with Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag. According to SportsMole, the Eagles are reportedly weighing up the possibility of making a move for the Croydon-born defender. However, Wolves and West Ham are also reportedly interested in signing him in January.

While Ten Hag says that Wan-Bissaka still “has a future” at Old Trafford, he has found himself as backup for Diogo Dalot this season. He has made just a single Premier League appearance so far this season, in a 2-1 win over Liverpool - even then, he only featured for four minutes in total.

Palace and Brighton fighting to sign 25-year-old Spanish left-back

Crystal Palace are reportedly interesting in acquiring the services of Sergio Akieme, who currently plays in La Liga for Almeria. They aren’t the only club looking to sign him - A23 derby rivals, Brighton, are also looking to sign the Spaniard.

With Everton in the hunt as well, according to TheHardTackle, Palace will need to offer better terms than both of these two clubs if they are serious about bringing him in. Akieme has made 55 league appearances for Almeria since joining in 2020, scoring three goals.
