Chris Wheatley’s Arsenal player ratings gallery as one scores 7/10 and five 5/10s in Brentford draw

Chris Wheatley rates the Arsenal players after their 1-1 draw with Brentford in the Premier League.

Arsenal failed to overcome the plucky Bees in a cagey encounter at Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring at the midway point in the second half after coming off the bench to net his first goal for the Gunners since signing from Brighton last month.

But it was boyhood Arsenal fan Ivan Toney who drew Thomas Frank’s side level after the ball was poked back by Christian Norgaard after a scramble in the box.

Toney’s goal was checked by the video assistant referee for a possible offside in the build-up, with Arteta revealing after the match that he thought the goal should have been chalked off.

The Gunners face Manchester City on Wednesday night in a mammoth title clash which could see Pep Guardiola’s side close the gap on the league leaders.

Here’s how we rated the Arsenal players in their 1-1 draw.
