A number of players left the club permanently to clear space and funds in the squad.
Here is a look where they have ended up...
Timo Werner, RB Leipzig
Chelsea allowed the Germany international to head back to Leipzig.
He has since scored four goals in nine games for the Bundesliga side in all competitions since his return.
Emerson, West Ham
The left-back was given the green light to leave on a permanent deal to join fellow London club West Ham.
He has made six appearanecs for the Hammers under David Moyes, four of which have come in the Premier League.
Billy Gilmour, Brighton and Hove Albion
Potter swooped to sign the youngster for Brighton before his move to Stamford Bridge.
The Scotland international will now be managed by Roberto De Zerbi.
Michy Batshauyi, Fenerbahce
He has been loaned out to Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace and Besiktas over recent years.
The striker has finally left for good and has linked up with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Antonio Rudiger, Real Madrid
Chelsea were dealt a blow when the influential centre-back left for a new challenge in Spain.
He has played nine times for Real Madrid so far and has chipped in with a single goal from the back.
Andreas Christiansen, Barcelona
The defender has played twice for Barcelona since his summer switch on a free transfer.
Xavi’s side snapped him up on a four-year contract.
Marcos Alonso, Barcelona
He also made the move to Camp Nou and left the Blues after six years.
The left-back signed back in 2016 and went on to play 212 games altogether.
Matt Miazga, FC Cincinnati
He returned to America last month and put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with Cincinnati.
The USA international spent time on loan at Alaves in Spain last term.
Jake Clarke-Salter, QPR
Bristol Rovers, Sunderland, Vitesse, Birmingham City and Coventry City all had him on loan over recent years.
QPR landed him permanently in June and he plays under former Liverpool, Rangers and Aston Villa coach Michael Beale there now.
Charly Musonda, Levante
Levante were relegated from La Liga last season so brought in Musonda as they look to gain an immediate promotion.
The 25-year-old will be eager to become a first-team regular there.
Ross Barkley, Nice
He left Chelsea by mutual consent at the end of August and has moved to France to join Nice.
Ex-Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey and former Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel also play for them.
Danny Drinkwater, free agent
The midfielder currently remains a free agent and has been looked at by Blackpool, as per the Blackpool Gazette.
Theirno Ballo, Wolfsberger
He has moved over to Austria to join Wolfsberger after spending time on loan with Rapid Wien in the last campaign.
George McEachran, free agent
The 22-year-old is still without a club since departing Stamford Bridge in late June.
Karlo Žiger, HNK Gorica
The goalkeeper now plays in his native Croatia for SuperSport HNL outfit HNK Gorica.
