What Chelsea fans inside Stamford Bridge did for Thiago Silva after 5-0 West Ham win

Thiago Silva played his penultimate game at Stamford Bridge as the Blues cruised to a 5-0 win.

Chelsea produced a five-star performance to beat West Ham 5-0 and go above Manchester United into seventh on the league table. United will get their chance to respond on Monday night but Chelsea have done their job.

At the heart of Chelsea's defence was Thiago Silva who played at Stamford Bridge for the first time since he revealed this would be his last game at the club. When he arrived as a free agent from PSG four seasons ago, not many believed he could win the Champions League and go on to establish himself as a club legend.

But this season he’s played 28 league games, being a key member of the team that reached the final of the League Cup and the semi-final of the FA Cup. The plan is for me to be the captain of the team in the last game of the season against Bournemouth, sources have told LondonWorld.

Touching tribute after 90 minutes for Thiago

For large parts of the game, Chelsea fans sang his name ‘Oh Thiago Silva’ almost every time he was on the ball, but it became even louder after the final whistle. The Brazilian went around applauding the home fans who made sure he got the love he deserved by uniformly singing his name till he walked out into the tunnel.

The former AC Milan star’s last game will be against Bournemouth and if this is anything to go by, it will be an emotional day for him and his family.

Relentless Chelsea punish woeful West Ham

After what was achallening start to the season, Chelsea are hitting top form. They have now won nine of their last 11 league games at Stamford bridge.

They could still catch Tottenham in sixth place if the Lilywhites continue n their losing streak and Chelsea continue to put team away with this kind of ease.
