Osimhen claim

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has claimed fellow Nigerian Victor Osimhen is interested in swapping Napoli for Chelsea this summer amid ongoing transfer links. “There’s interest from both sides,” Obi Mikel said on beIN SPORT. “He wants to come to the club. The club, I think, want a proven goalscorer and that’s no disrespect to Nicolas Jackson. Last season he did well but I think we need more.

“We’ve had a few text messages here and there. I’ve told him how good the club is and what a fantastic place it is to improve. He’s interested which is encouraging. He wants to come to the club. Chelsea is a massive club and he would like to follow in the footsteps of other Nigerians to play for Chelsea. I think it’s 60/40 in favour that Osimhen comes, I think so, he wants to come. I think there should be a straight swap because Napoli want [Romelu] Lukaku.”

Simeone on Gallagher deal

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid continue to work on two separate deals with Conor Gallagher and Joao Felix potentially swapping clubs, albeit for very different fees. Atleti boss Diego Simeone has been asked about the Gallagher saga during his press conference ahead of facing Villarreal on Monday night n his side’s opener.

He responded: “The squad is not closed yet, we are still working on additions. We know what we’re looking for and what we want. Work is being done to finalise the squad.”

Lo Celso interest

Jose Mourinho is reportedly hoping to land a Tottenham man this summer as he looks to strengthen his Fenerbahce side this summer. According to Sporx, Giovani Lo Celso is of interest to the former Spurs boss with the Argentine midfielder reportedly having been told he can leave this summer.

Lo Celso spent a season on loan at Villarreal before returning for last season, but he struggled with injury. He has now been transfer listed, according to reports, and Mourinho could offer him an opportunity in Türkiye.
