Tottenham strike favourable deal as Chelsea 'enter race' for Serie A superstar
Chelsea and Tottenham are continuing their preparations with the former now headed to the United States, while Spurs begin their summer tour in Japan. In the meantime, recruitment chiefs at both clubs will be working hard to bring in new players before the new season.
We have already seen arrivals at both clubs, and there should be more to come, with exits also likely. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea and Tottenham.

Hide AdChiesa ‘interest’
Chelsea and Tottenham are both credited with interest in Italy and Juventus star Federico Chiesa with the Italian giants reportedly willing to sell this summer. La Gazzetta dello Sport via Tuttomercatoweb say the player is returning to Juve after some extra time off through Euro 2024, but upon his return he will train back at base in Turin rather than linking up with the first team in Germany.
It’s claimed Chelsea and Tottenham are among the clubs to have expressed an early interest. That follows previous claims that Spurs are chasing a deal for the Italian as they look to add competition for Dejan Kulusevski.
Chelsea are reportedly set to cash in on fringe star Malang Sarr this summer. According to reports in France, a deal has been struck between Lens and Chelsea, and Sarr is to depart within the next day or two.
The 25-year-old has only ever made eight league appearances for the Blues, and he will now depart, but there is no mention of the fee involved, or if there is a fee involved. The priority for Chelsea will be to offload Sarr’s wages given he is a player who is not playing.

Hide AdFormer Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino cast Sarr aside last season, and asked about where the 25-year-old was, he notably replied “Who?” before trying to cover up for his memory lapse by adding: “Oh my goodness. I don't know what I can tell you. I don't know because you surprised me! It's like you punch [me in the face] and I am like this [startled]. Because we were talking about Luton!”
Hojbjerg exit
Pierre Emile Hojbjerg is headed through the exit doors, already touching down in the South of France ahead of joining Marseille on an initial loan deal that will turn permanent at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, the deal will eventually be worth as much as £16.8million to Spurs, but that’s not all. The North London club are also said to have agreed a sell-on clause in the deal. Tottenham were always likely to strengthen their midfield this summer, and it seems Hojbjerg will be the man to make space.
