Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou says left-back Destiniy Udogie could be in line to return for the all-important London derby against Chelsea on Monday night, but added he was at stage “50-50”.

The Tottenham defender has been sensational this season after he made the position his own, taking over from Ben Davies and has been a revelation for Ange Postecoglou’s brilliant team.

He started every league game but was withdrawn in the home game against Fulham and subsequently missed the win against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

But speaking ahead of the all-important game against Chelsea who are now managed by former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Postecoglou said there was a chance the young Italian could return.

he told reporters: “Still got a few days. From last week, everyone got through the game okay apart from Benny Davies who came off at halftime. Destiny is still working his way through it. Haven’t ruled him out yet. 50-50 at this stage as to whether he will be available.”

Spurs have won eight of their first 10 league games and drawing the remaining. Manager Postecoglou has yet to lose a league game at home in almost three years counting from his time at Celtic and he’s made the best start to a Premier League manager.

However, their fine form will be tested by a Chelsea side who have won their last two away games from home even though they lost their last home game against Brentford.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham are at the start of an interesting project but there is little that it is Tottenham who have made the better start.
