Chelsea expected XI with Raheem Sterling: How Thomas Tuchel intends to set up his side with England star

How Thomas Tuchel will use Raheem Sterling as as his leader and the source of his goals.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has been unrelenting with his chase of Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and reports are that new owner Todd Boehly has moved in to seal the deal.

The Blues are looking to complete the loan deal of Romelu Lukaku and then they will push to close the deal that will see Sterling return to London, the city he grew up in and started learning how to play football.

Everyone at Chelsea has accepted that the £97.5 million invested on Romelu Lukaku has not yielded the desired results and instead of wasting energy to try and make it work, it’s better to cut their losses and look forward to the future.

The signing of star man Sterling has raised a couple of questions, but there is no doubting his ability and in the past three years as the forward has been scoring the goals for both England and Manchester City.

Thomas Tuchel has observed from afar how Sterling has been consistent for Manchester City and yet his influence in the team continues to dwindle with every passing season.

Sterling has several attributes but key amongst them is his ability to move intelligently across the forward line, something that Lukaku just doesn’t have.

He has been used on the left, on the right and sometimes played through as false nine, and in all the 27-year-old forward has excelled.

LondonWorld understands that Thomas Tuchel has already held a meeting with Sterling where he has explained how he will use it to maximise his efforts and make him the best ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

The former Liverpool man is expected to be leading the attack either from wide or through the middle.

So with Sterling most likely looking to move to Stamford Bridge, here is how we expect Chelsea to set up with all their new players at the start of the season.
