German manager Thomas Tuchel will take home £15m as compensation after he was sacked on Wednesday morning, following a slow start to the season.

The former Blues manager won the Champions League in 2021 and had bought the likes of Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling as he looked to rebuild his side after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left in the summer.

Thomas Tuchel was on a salary around £13m a year and he will be paid his full wages for a year and an additional £2m to settle his back room staff who have worked with him.

The German was one of the best paid managers in the Premier League and there were talks of giving him a new contract before it was pulled off the table after the start of the season they’ve had and eventually he was laid off.

Meanwhile Chelsea have moved fast to secure the services of Graham Potter as their new manager.

LondonWorld understands a verbal agreement has been reached with Potter and he is expected to be in charge when Chelsea take on Fulham this weekend in the Premier League.

The former Swansea man will be reunited with Marc Cucurella who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Brighton earlier in the summer.

The details of Graham Potter’s contract will be finalised and the club will make an immediate announcement as they look to kick start their season.
