Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher made fans’ mouths water on Monday evening as he played a pivotal role in Crystal Palace’s astonishing 3-0 win over Arsenal.
The midfielder is one of 24 players out on loan from the Blues this season and one of many that are impressing at their respective clubs - while some have endured more of a tricky campaign.
Chelsea will be excited to see a number of the loanees return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season as they look to add to a very strong senior squad.
Here is the best XI of Chelsea loanees and how they are getting on this season...
1. Nathan Baxter - Hull City
Baxter joined the Tigers last summer but didn’t make his debut till November. He has only made 12 league appearances this season and hasn’t featured since January, struggling to take Matt Ingram’s place in the starting line-up.
2. Dujon Sterling - Blackpool
After making 24 appearances this season, Sterling has returned to Chelsea to be assessed for a ligament injury sustained in the Seasiders’ defeat to Nottingham Forest.
3. Jake Clarke-Salter - Coventry City
Clarke-Salter is currently in his sixth consecutive loan spell away from Chelsea and has made 28 Championship appearances for Coventry. The Sky Blues sit 12th in the league - eight points from a play-off spot.
4. Ethan Ampadu - Venezia
Ampadu has made 23 league appearances for Venezia, claiming three assists in the process. The newly-promoted side sit 18th in Serie A and have lost five matches in a row.
