Ten brilliant pictures of Chelsea fans enjoying the victory against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea fans would have loved the dramatic win against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans turned up to Stamford Bridge to show their support for the club and Kai Havertz as has been since he joined the club scored a dramatic late winner to ensure victory on a memorable day at the Bridge.

The game was dry and looked to be heading for a draw before the German striker calmly controlled a ball before slotting home the winner on the 88th minute to send fans wild.

The emotions were raw and epitomised by manager Thomas Tuchel who ran down the line, screaming at the fans and punching the air as he celebrated Havertz’s winner in style.

The win crowns off a very difficult week for the club with their existence in doubt following the sanctioning of owner Roman Abramovich.

Roman has been Chelsea owner for almost two decades and his reign has brought the club’s most successful period with 21 trophies including two Champions League titles amongst many others.

It’s been a tough blow to the fans who now have to hope for a new owner in order to continue to operate smoothly, with restrictions on match day tickets and sale of merchandise in place.

There is also the issue of the club’s inability to offer new contracts to players who are out of contract and sale to generate money until the club is off the hands of owner Roman Abramovich who is said to have links with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

The message out of the Chelsea team has been to try and concentrate on the football as much as possible and leave the off field issues, and that is what they have done this week.

Kai Havertz’s goal means they have picked up all 12 points available from the last four games and will now hope to reach the quarter final stage of the Champions League in midweek.
