Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024: Eden Hazard and Frank Lampard set for Stamford Bridge reunion as lineups announced

The initial lineups for Soccer Aid for UNICEF have landed as Chelsea's Stamford Bridge will play host for 2024.

Eden Hazard is set for a Stamford Bridge return this summer as part of the 2024 Soccer Aid for UNICEF lineup. The Chelsea legend will lace up his boots and step out at his old stomping ground to represent the World XI, which will be spearheaded by current Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Hazard will make his Soccer Aid debut following his retirement from professional football back in October. The Belgian, who won six trophies with Chelsea and scored 110 goals in 352 appearances, will also be reunited with former teammate and fellow club hero Frank Lampard at this summer's Soccer Aid for UNICEF.

"My Chelsea family, I am coming home on Sunday 9th June! I can’t wait to see you all again," Hazard said. "Playing at Stamford Bridge was always amazing. We won so many trophies together there. Some of the very best memories I have in football — seven brilliant years. I miss them.

"As I enter a new chapter, we can write new history with Soccer Aid for UNICEF. Together, we can and will raise millions of pounds for children across the world. So, buy your tickets and let’s have a great day together in June."

Lampard will be competing against Hazard this time though, as he will take charge of the Soccer Aid England team alongside fellow co-managers Harry Redknapp and Robbie Williams. Along with pushing to smash last year's record-breaking £14.6 million raised for UNICEF, Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer will be hoping to deliver England's first Soccer Aid win since 2018.

Lampard's team will feature some familiar former professionals and celebrities as the likes of Paddy McGuinness, Tom Grennan and Sir Mo Farah will return, along with former Lionesses duo Jill Scott and Karen Carney, who both made their debuts last year. Women's Euro 2022 winner Scott will captain the Soccer Aid England team.

The money raised from this year’s game could help UNICEF protect children from disease and malnutrition, support their mental health and respond in times of crisis, so they can get back to learning when schools are destroyed. It could also help provide vaccines to prevent common childhood diseases such as measles, so that children around the world can grow up happy, healthy and able to play.
