Robert Sanchez on life under Mauricio Pochettino and confidence ahead Chelsea vs Fulham

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez says the trust of Mauricio Pochettino has made him comfortable and kicking him to give his best for the club every game.

Sanchez has conceded six goals in the league so far but can also be proud of his performance against Bournemouth and Aston Villa, making seven saves that earned them a point against the Cherries and kept the score respectable against Unai Emery’s side.

He admits the win against his former side Brighton in the League Cup will lift the team and renew their energy going into the game against Fulham on Monday night.

He told reporters: “We play well, we’re not conceding too many goals, the team does everything well but we can’t finalize. We’re trying, we’re getting better, it’s just a matter of time, I’m sure this victory gives us confidence, not just because we made it through another round in the cup.

“Nico (Nicolas Jackson) scored, the team won, we must try to do the same vs Fulham I’m happy with Chelsea. I found a manager who trusts me very much, I want to do as much as I can to help the team.”

Chelsea need goals to scale up the league table, only Burnley and Luton Town all newly promoted, have scored less than Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The Blues have one of the youngest squads in the squad and last season’s 12th-placed finish has meant they do not have any kind of European football this season.
