The 52-year-old is regarded by many as on of Tottenhham’s best managers in recent time, having led them to the Champions League final in 2019 and finishing second in the league in his time at north London

There was alway going to be that distance between himself and the Chelsea fanbase due to his past but the Argentinian manager who has kept the team in the hunt for European football despite a long list of injuries says he hopes when the love arrives it will be real and not fake.

He told reporters at the club’s training base in Surrey ahead of the visit to Brighton: “In Tottenham, the first season was tough also. What I don't like, we are not fake people

“We are not going to say we love something that we still need an emotional link. It's easy for me to arrive in the first game and kiss the badge but it is not in my nature. I want to create real feelings. If we arrive one day and feel the love between the fans and us, it is going to be real, not fake because we are not fake people.”
