N’Golo Kante fitness update as Graham Potter confirms double injury blow ahead of Leicester

Chelsea looking for third straight win for the first time this year to continue turn around under Graham Potter.

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has confirmed Reece James and Raheem Sterling are doubts for the trip to the King Power this weekend to face Leicester City.

Sterling opened the scoring against Dortmund but is now racing against time to be ready for the game against Brendan Rodgers’ side due to illness while Reece James who also put up a splendid performance is also struggling for fitness.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter confirmed both were doubts as well striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who hasn’tplayed much recently.

Potter said: “Reece has been ill, so hasn’t trained today. He won’t make the game tomorrow.

“Raheem had a little feeling in his hamstring, so looking doubtful tomorrow. Aubameyang has a slight problem with his back so he’s looking like he’ll miss the game.”

Mason Mount who has missed the last two games due to injury and suspension is back in training as well as N’Golo Kante who hasn’t kicked a ball this year and missed the World Cup is also working in Cobham, even though the game against Leicester might come too soon for him.

Potter added: “ He probably needs a little bit more time on [Mason Mount ]”

“He is happy around the place and wants to help the team. That is normal with Mason. He wants the team to win, be injury free, and play football.”

Leicester lost to Southampton in the last game and will be desperate to bounce back when Chelsea come to town.
