'The demand has changed': Mauricio Pochettino reveals the difference 21y/o Chelsea star has had Cobham

Cole Palmer has been by far the best signing for Chelsea this season and will be key if they are to reach the FA Cup final.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says Cole Palmer’s life has changed since he joined the club in the summer and reveals he’d be happy to help him improve and navigate his new status in football

The 21-year-old has scored 20 league goals this season, the same as Manchester City’s goal-machine Erling Haaland and became the first player since the great Eden Hazard to bag the number of league goals he’s had.

Asked if there was a chance you could tell a player who has found the back of the net 25 times in all competitions to improve the Chelsea boss said: “The demand has changed. He ( Cole Palmer)needs to absorb the pressure of playing in the Premier League consistently.

“We were talking to the coaching staff, it's about the demand in his private life. Maybe he needs to pay attention to different things than before he didn't pay attention.

“We need to be careful. We have experience of course in managing this kind of thing with a young kid to become a bigger star.”

Back Ground:

Palmer joined Chelsea on transfer deadline day for £40m as one of the young players who have been assembled for around £1billion but straight away he shone so bright and became the star of the project.

His performance has since led to some of the City fans scratching their head and wondering if Pep Guardiola made a mistake in letting the academy product swap Manchester for west London

The fee Chelsea paid for him now looks very cheap given they have bought players for £100m and have struggled to hit the ground running. Palmer has since taken life at Chelsea like a duck to water.
