The Blues are aiming to reach the last eight of this year’s Carabao Cup and standing in their way is Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Blackburn Rovers.
This should be a straight-forward victory but as has been the case in recent weeks it's just a matter of which Chelsea turns up for the game.
Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino was brought in to try and change the style of football, move the team up the league table and ultimately restore Chelsea back to its rightful place after a year of disappointment that saw them finish 12th on the league table- their worst finish to a campaign in almost three decades.
But the Cup games could sometimes be the respite teams need a resounding victory tonight could be the backbone on which they build their team ahead of the game against Chelsea on Monday night.
So with everything at stake, this is the team Pochettino has named to ensure there is no upset and progression is secured.
1. Robert Sanchez - 6
Didn’t have to do for large parts of the game then pulled off a great save in the end.
2. Cole Palmer-7
The best player in the team. Looked dangerous in those first few minutes of the game. You get the feeling that he’s going to be a special player here.
3. Reece James-6
First start since that Liverpool game and came close to scoring. Was never shy to try score from a distance. A few heavy touches in between.
4. Lesley Ugochukwu - 6
Calm and composed with good ability on the ball. Easy to see he’s a good player but the question remains will he get the time to do it at Chelsea.
